Where is the best area to stay?
If you desire more relaxing stay choose a hotel in northern, green parts of the country, if you like steep and wild mountainous terrain you should try the southern parts. The capital Yerevan is situated roughly at the center of the country and therefore has an advantage.
However, the best way to travel through Armenia is to enjoy both, the wild forests with peaceful lakes of the north and rocky mountains with fast rivers of the south.

Almost all types of stores usually open at 8 or 9 in the morning and remain open until 8 or 9 in the evening through almost all national and religious holidays. Major supermarkets are open 24 hours a day. Churches are open for visitors from 9am to 6pm. Museums have a specific schedule, days of free entry and closed days. Restaurants, located in the public buildings will remain open until midnight, while in separate building they stay open for much longer.
What kind of clothing should I take depending on season?
Summer: The weather is hot (36°C average) with mild humidity. During the evenings it is usually windy with occasional heavy rain, but still warm. You should have shorts and a t-shirt with sandals with you when coming to Armenia during summer. If you plan on going into the mountains consider slightly warmer clothing.
Fall/Spring: The weather during these seasons is very unpredictable. It is quite rainy in Armenia during fall and spring (40 mm and 60 mm respectively). The temperatures may rise and drop significantly. If you are traveling during fall or spring you should take a light jacket towards summer and warmer clothing towards winter. Wear closed toe shoes and keep a cap or an umbrella with you. The average temperatures vary greatly about 13°C in March and November and 22°C in May and September.
