Cher (Cherilyn Sarkisyan) is a famous singer, actress, model, fashion designer, television host, comedian, songwriter, dancer, businesswoman, philanthropist, author, film producer, director, record producer. She augmented female presence in male-dominated industry. She had her first million-seller song at the age of 20 and for her long lasting career she is nicknamed the Goddess of Pop.

Gohar Gasparyan, Singer
Gohar Gasparyan was an outstanding opera singer. During her long career she sang 23 different operas and performed at numerous concerts. She was able to easily shake people’s spirits with the fine tunes of her voice. She truly is the “gohar” (a gemstone in Armenian) of the Armenian opera.

Inga and Anush Arshakyans, Singers
Inga and Anush Arshakyans are renowned for performing and writing ethnic and national songs. They started singing on the big stage at a fairly young age, releasing first album at age 23 and 25 respectively. They represented Armenia in world famous Eurovision Song Contest in 2009. Later in Eurovision Song Contest 2015 Inga was part of Armenian collective group.

Monte Melkonyan, National Hero of Armenia
Being one of the most patriotic people in human history Monte could not stand aside when his homeland was in danger. He came to Armenia and formed a military unit with fellow citizens, who were like himself willing to risk their life for the safety of Armenia. His bright mind was able to out think the adversary and steal the victory from the structured army of the enemy.

Raymond Vahan Damadyan, Inventor
Using the results of his intensive research in potassium and sodium in living cells he was able to create the first Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) device. This invention led him to create first ever Magnetic Resonance (MR) body scanner in 1969. This device was able to accurately detect tumors. Nowadays, this scanners are used worldwide. They are commonly known as MRIs.

Sayat-Nova (born: HarutyunSayatyan) was the soul of 4 different nations that were at times at war. His songs are in Georgian, Azeri, Turkish and of course Armenian. Even now, more than 2 centuries after his death, these nations call him as their own. His poems, melody and kamancha are the cradle of traditional Caucasian folklore music.
