Armenians are proud to be one of the oldest nations in the world. They have been living in the Armenian Highland since the beginning of their long and brave history, during which they have had 13 capitals.
Yerevan has been founded in 782 B.C. by king Argishti the First. This makes Yerevan older than Rome and all other major European cities.
This fact has not passed unnoticed by one of the most respectable and popular newspapers in the world – The Telegraph. In its recent publication The Telegraph ranked Yerevan as one of 16 oldest cities of Europe. Numerous invaders who attacked the city are also noted in the report. Interestingly, the majority of them do not exist anymore.
Nowadays, Yerevan flourishes and each year welcomes tourists of almost half of its own population.
